We’re seeking donations to provide Christmas gifts for children and single people living in our homeless accommodation at Clayton Court in Rushmoor.
Clayton Court provides a temporary home for around 45households – from single people, to families with young children and babies –while they are waiting for more permanent housing.
We’re asking our staff, clients, partners and anyone else who would like to get involved, to help us make up around 60 Christmas gift boxes for families who otherwise will have very little this Christmas.
Judith Tyler who manages the centre says “There are all kinds of reasons why our residents find themselves living at Clayton Court. They may have become unemployed and then lost their home, they may be fleeing domestic violence or find themselves with nowhere to go after a relationship break down, or they may be struggling with alcohol or substance abuse.
“Whatever the reason, becoming homeless is a difficult thing for anyone to cope with, and being homeless at Christmas can feel especially bleak when most people are enjoying time with friends and family. A small gift will make a huge difference for our residents and show them that someone cares. Your donation will be very much appreciated.”
We’re collecting donations via the Mears Foundation. Funds will support the purchase of gifts for residents living in the centre over Christmas. Any additional funds raised will be used to buy play equipment for the centre in the Summer.
